It’s not easy to gain a place in GuidePal’s curated city guides. Consistently wonderful, these local hotspots are the latest “chosen ones” for our highly selective Stockholm guide.
Divided into two spaces – the fine dining Krog and the Slip, a simpler bistro – the cuisine in both is outstanding. Local produce, foraged herbs and sustainably reared meat add to the general impression of quality and integrity.
Whilst it’s likely you and your friends stopped hanging about shopping centres quite a long time ago, it may be time to reconsider your options. Located in the hip MOOD mall, Boqueria splits its time between the stylish surroundings of a glass-fronted main restaurant and a sunken central bar area, which is where the party kicks off after dark. A wide selection of wines and cocktails, as well as an ever-changing roster of DJs, manages to cater to both an animated after-work crowd and enthusiastic late-night revellers.
The minimalist menu at Gastrologik can be a shock to the unprepared. You’re in safe hands, however. Chefs Jacob Holmstrom and Anton Bjuhr focus on excellent seasonal Swedish ingredients, so expect anything from creamy goats cheese made specially for the restaurant to foraged, deep-fried lichen to turn up on your plate.
K25 is the sort of place that we’re often seeking out but too rarely find – a handily located spot where you can grab something quick to eat without compromising on quality. Offerings are generally healthier and more authentic than other fast casual competition, while the place’s look feels fresher, hipper and more pleasant to linger in.
