La Cucina at Farrier and Draper

La Cucina promises Dublin’s diners a salubrious taste of dusky Georgian glamour, with chef Riccardo Grando’s expansive menu nicely complementing the rich interior décor at Farrier and Draper. Featuring a tasty looking stuzzichini selection, the menu includes such delights as classic Italian favourite arancini, accompanied by porcini, truffle oil and buffalo mozzarella and tartare of sea-bream, with red grape, blood orange emulsion and shaved fennel pink pepper. La Cucina offers lunch and dinner all week at Powerscourt Townhouse and also houses a discreet velvet-curtained space for private dining reservations.


Full Circle Roasters

There’s been a considerable uplift in coffee fortunes for northbound commuters down Talbot Street way, first with the appearance of Laine, My Love from the folks at Roasted Brown, and now with the recent arrival of Brian Birdy’s specialty coffee house at Jacob’s Inn Hostel. Caffeine lovers travelling towards Connolly Station and Busáras can now enjoy a taste of the Monaghan barista’s terrific specialty grade coffee, roasted fresh and in season. The café also carries a great selection of fresh sandwiches, available to eat in and to go, made with fine Irish ingredients from Arun Bakery, Hegarty’s Cheese and Rafferty’s Ham.



The Dublin food scene has been welcoming the arrival of a number of vegan ventures lately, the most recent of which popped up this summer in the guise of Portobello based food truck Veginity. Aussie chef Marc Senn’s high quality plant-based food offerings have been wowing vegans and vegan-curious alike with Ethiopian Injera and homemade dosas, and deserts such as luscious peach donuts with cherry gel, coconut cream and chocolate ganache proving especially popular. Open Friday 5pm till 10pm and Saturdays 12pm to 10pm.


Irish Cocktail Fest

Cocktail lovers are in for a treat this month as bar tenders across Ireland make, shake and innovate in a bid to create the Best Irish Cocktail of 2016. Featuring a spirited array of concoctions, the festival celebrates great Irish artisanal spirits including Dingle Gin, Ruby Blue Potato Vodka and Writers Tears pot still whiskey. The public are encouraged to vote for their favourite cocktail using the #BestIrishCocktail hashtag on Twitter, or by commenting on the Great Irish Beverages Facebook page. The Irish Cocktail Fest runs throughout the week of Saturday 10th to Thursday 15th October.

Dublin Pizza Company

Let’s face it, in recent months Dublin has gone madder for pizza than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on payday. Now, ignore that that analogy makes no sense (who, after all, would pay the Turtles?
